Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra | Your Phil. Your Music.
This is project brought voice to the community, versus from the organization. Celebrating the vibrant stories of Calgarians that intertwine when they sit down in the theatre.
The pitch was that, the value of live music/ performance is that it is shared. The audience moves and breaths together as the music sweeps through the theatre. We interviewed 4 inspiring people from Calgary that had never experienced the Calgary Philharmonic before, to get a sense of what community means to them. Illustrating that each of the hundreds of audience members that take in this music together, individually arrive with their own stories and backgrounds but form a new collective in this shared experience.

This project for Contemporary Calgary focussed on community ownership of the gallery, and the subjective nature of art.
We took a documentary style approach that included interviews with community members and partners of Contemporary Calgary, intercut with abstract activations of the spaces inside, and ideation of art outside of them.
